Final poem of a forthcoming collection, Stirrup of the Sun & Moon
“You are the mash-up
of what you let into your life.”
Austin Kleon, author of Keep Going and Steal Like An Artist
“All learning requires tuition.”
LaRue Owen, Sr.
These minutes turn as pages in a great book.
Hours become dogeared reminders.
These months have been gates over a path.
Having felt the direct touch of The Rainmaker,
this heart-mind is now a fish out of water.
Falling from a net that has held me all this time
into the bottom of a boat I already know is sinking,
I now dream in the language of rivers surrendering to oceans.
